when you're used to having a drivers license, it's really frustrating when suddenly you can't drive anymore. i feel so completely handicapped. i suddenly depend on others driving me, and it doesn't feel too good.. i live almost an hour south of the capitol, and having a car here is necessary to get around. it's farmland. and only one train every hour (and even less now that we have public holidays). and no, there are no buses or trains going to the awesome locations i wanna go to..

a couple of weeks ago, i fainted on the train home. it was the second time in just a few months - and i've never fainted before - so i figured i would go see my doctor about it. i thought maybe i needed some vitamins or minerals or whatever. the first thing he did was telling me that i was no longer allowed to drive, not until they found out what was wrong anyway. he doubted they would physically take my license away from me (they haven't. yet.), but i'm not allowed to use it.

yesterday i called the doctor to ask wether they had gotten any results from my blood test. "your blood looks fine, nothing there to worry about". and so i asked if i could drive again. but then they suddenly remembered that they had contacted the hospital about this and that i, apparently, have to go to the hospital to get my heart checked. they just hadn't informed me about it.. .

so i called the hospital-heart-people today, asking if they knew when i was going there and what they would do to me. they haven't got any time for me until the end of august. then they'll monitor my heart for 24 hours and then they'll do some scary ultrasound scan things. the doctor checked my blood pressure and listened to my heart when i saw him - and he didn't find anything wrong at all - but he's still sending me there.

my doctor is a drama queen.
